　　安东尼霍普金斯 Anthony Hopkins 于1937年12月31日出生于英国的南威尔士。他是一位影、视、剧三栖演员。从戏剧学校毕业以后，他有很长的一段时间都在剧场里演出戏剧。扎实的戏剧功 底为他从事其他方面的演艺事业提供保证。1968年，他与明星凯瑟琳赫本合演影片《冬之狮》。安东尼霍普金斯出色的演技开始受到人们注目。 　　在演出电影同时，他也没有放弃戏剧演出。在群星汇集的百老汇，安东尼霍普金斯也牢牢占据着自己的一席之地。1978年，安东尼霍普金斯演出了《傀儡凶手》一片，获得了广泛的好评。然而酗酒却使得他的演艺事业一时陷入了停顿。直到 80年代，他才开始重新振作起来。84年他演出《恩惠》一片，其表现十分出色。 　　进入90年代以后，霍普金斯的演艺事业有了新的发展。 1992年，安东尼霍普金斯以其在《沉默的羔羊》一片中的杰出表现获得了第64届奥斯卡最佳男主角奖的殊荣。他是奥斯卡历史上第三位获此荣誉的英国演员。 92年，霍普金斯还在影片《惊情四百年》中出色地饰演了一位研究吸血鬼的专家。93年霍普金斯又在影片《幻境》中成功地诠释了一位性格沉静的大学教授。他那感人至深的表演获得了观众们的一致好评。他的演技正被越来越多的人所肯定。 　　1995年，安东尼霍普金斯在《秋日传奇》中饰演了一位慈父，并在影片《尼克松》中成功地饰演人们熟悉的伟人。1996年，安东尼霍普金斯在影片《八月》和《Surviving Plcasso》中有着十分出色的表演。在岁月的流逝中，安东尼霍普金斯以其在银幕上众多栩栩如生的形象向人们证实了他那过人的演技和天赋的才华。
