马龙·白兰度。1924年4月3日出生于美国内布拉斯加州奥马哈市的一个中产阶级家庭。他自小顽皮好动，性格倔强，从不好好学习。中学毕业后他到纽约，进了一家戏剧学校攻读表演艺术。“AFI百年百大明星”之一。马龙的身后，遗留下一长串数字：1个不朽的角色——教父，5部经典的影片——《欲望号街车》、《现代启示录》、《巴黎最后的探戈》、《码头风云》、《教父》；6个自杀的情妇；17个律师；大约25个不幸的子女；1100万英镑的巨额债务。 他和战争与军旅的关系倒不是由于他的青春时代正逢第二次世界大战，而是早先家人把他送往军校结果竟然是不欢而散---他被军校开除!当家人给他经济支助让他受教育时，他选择了戏剧。显然他自己的选择来得比较高明，并且他还懂得选地点--纽约。 著名的艺术教育家早就看出白兰度是块演戏的材料，并预言他不出几年定会成为美国最优秀的演员。他的预言极快便应验了，1943年他在纽约首次登台献艺，1944年在百老汇崭露头角，成为一位颇受瞩目的人物。以后几年他演了不少出名剧，主角配角都当过。20世纪50年代进入电影界后，他曾饰演过许多不凡的角色。1950年他出演他的第一部影片《The men》，在片中饰演主角；但并未引起人们注意。1951年马龙·白兰度异军突起， 出演影片《欲望号街车》，他以其独特的厚实沉稳，粗野遒劲的表演风格成功地塑造了流氓无产者斯坦利的形象。他的出色表演使他获得他的第一次奥斯卡奖提名。 接着，在《柴巴达万岁》中饰演墨西哥革命领袖，获第五届嘎纳国际电影节最佳男主角奖、英国电影学院最佳外国男演员奖和奥斯卡最佳男主角提名。1953年，在《恺撒大帝》中扮演安东尼，再次荣获英国电影学院最佳外国男演员奖和奥斯卡最佳男主角提名。1954年在《码头风云》中扮演一位孤身与黑社会抗争的码头工人，为此他还亲身去体验生活，真正当起一个码头搬运工。他将这个角色饰演得有血有肉，使之成为美国中下层工人的光辉代表。他第三次荣获电影学院最佳外国男演员奖和二十七届奥斯卡金像奖最佳男主角奖提名。 这四部影片奠定了马龙·白兰度在美国影坛的地位。 在此期间，他在1954年《野性骑手》的表演被认为是“喊出了美国青年一代的心声”。马龙·白兰度的戏路非常宽广，1957年他在《再见》中扮演一位美军少校，1958年在《幼狮》中扮演一位纳粹军官，1959年在《流浪者》中扮演一位流浪汉，他在这些影片中均有不俗的表现。 20世纪六十年代，他的事业出现了滑坡。一场电影官司使他变得怪癖孤独、沉默寡言，几乎于世隔绝。他变得顽世不恭，成为好莱坞最出名的“浪子”。期间，只有《叛舰喋血记》一片是他的成功之作。他自己创办的电影公司也宣告失败。他几乎在影坛销声匿迹。他虽未必是“叛逆”角色的先驱，却是其中最具代表性，最能发扬光大的人物。他为自己，也为观众建立一种风格，一种特性，一种典范。它就是以那独树一帜的“反英雄”格调，突破传统，超越常规，在影坛辉煌了十年。很少人能像他那样，既是魅力十足的男性性感象徵，又有令人称道的出色演技。因此他就在影坛“不可一世”般地闪亮了十年。当人们以为他的一蹶不振终将万劫不复时，他却一如传说中的火鸟，神话般地从死亡中复活，由灰烬里再生，以新的荣耀，新的璀璨，新的震惊开始了他影艺生涯的第三个十年。 此后，他又因《萨巴达》、《朱利斯·凯撒》和《狂野的人》而获得三次奥斯卡奖提名。 1970年，导演弗朗西斯·科波拉力邀他出演影片《教父》，马龙·白兰度产生极大的兴趣。这部反映美国黑手党家族事业的影片一经上映，立刻引起社会的巨大轰动，被称为是继《公民凯恩》后最伟大的一部电影作品。影片创下非凡的票房收入。白兰度把老一代教父维多.柯利昂演绎得出神入化，入木三分，充分展现他惊人的才华。为此他再次获得奥斯卡最佳男主角奖的金像奖。随后，他又出演《巴黎的最后探戈》、《超人》、《现代启示录》和《干燥的白色季节》等片，获得了一致的好评。其中，《干燥的白色季节》又一次让他获得奥斯卡奖的提名。 进入20世纪90年代后，年迈的马龙·白兰度依然演出了颇具水准的影片《唐璜德马科》和《人魔岛》，再一次向人们展示了他那炉火纯青的演技。 　　2004年7月1日6点20分马龙·白兰度逝世。享年80岁。根据UCLA医学中心批示，死因是肺部疾病。
